Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for all the information you provide! I have a question. I was smelling oil inside my 2004 Nissan Frontier truck for quite sometime. Yesterday, I took it to Nissan, and they could see that my valve cover gaskets were leaking. So, they replaced the 2 gaskets, and cleaned up the oil that had dripped onto the sides of the engine. Well, I drove my truck home, and I noticed during the drive home I would still smell oil, especially when I came to a stop at traffic lights, but even more strong when I got to my home, and drove up my driveway.... which is only about 25 feet long, but it has about a 30 degree slant. The smell of oil was quite noticeable. Do you think it is possible that there is just more oil located in other areas of my engine that are still existing ..... prior to having the gaskets replaced ? I plan on taking my truck back to Nissan, but I was curious as to what you think the possibilities might be, regarding the fact that I'm still smelling oil inside the car? Thanks so much! :-)

Aren’t you supposed to check for spacing in the spark plugs?

amigo I have a Lincoln mkz, everytime I turned on heat or cooler, my car makes smell like a fart. so I changed the air filter but the smell didin't go away,I took my car to mecanic-he said that he fixed with spray or whatever he did,but car smell didn't go away..I don't knw what to do..

My car needs help! when on the road number 3 spark plug wires keeps popping out of place, oil I guess gushing out of it, it hesitates, losing power, and it did ran hot til I changed out the thermostat it seems better! I changed plugs/ wires/ caps/ thermostat/ fan switch! I'll be changing out the throttle positioning sensor and temperature coolant sensor(?) and see if it helps! Bought this car a project so yeah lol

Im a retired fleet mechanic. The longest I recall any battery lasting was 6 years. They were oems installed in Ford F150 pickups. That is until I purchased a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE in July 2008. Its December 2019 and the original battery is still going. Thats almost 11 1/2 years and it still tests 13.2 volts. I know, you dont believe me, no one else does either. Been carrying a rechargeable booster pack for 3 years in my trunk waiting for the battery to kick. Never have cleaned the terminals either. Not to mention I lived in bitter cold upstate NY until Dec 2017. Now live in the hot humid state of SC. Haven't hit 62000 miles yet and most of those miles are from commuting between NY and SC. Car has been babied, but still, batteries just don't last this long.

My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee ( Laredo 5.7L HEMI ) always smells like Radiator Fluid when I drive it YET no indicators come on that anything is wrong and there is never anything on my garage floor. I am, however, using coolant that I have to refile from time to time ( ever couple of months but only maybe a quarter bottle MAYBE ). Heat indicator gauge does not go above half way and there is nothing in my information center showing any issues. I recently changed my oil and oil filter and both looked Fine or Normal. I do have about 135,000 miles on the vehicle and last year my water pump seized up and Me My Son and Father Replaced it ( My Son did all the work while we watched UA-cam video on HOW TO and supervised him without issue ) . Engine seems to run GREAT.

Did some checking on YourMechanic.com. They're receiving a lot of complaints about poor service. Check Yelp and Google Reviews and find a good local mobile mechanic that way. Sorry, Scotty, YourMechanic may be good in Houston, but it may not be good in somebody else's State.

Scott! What a difference after changing the power steering fluid in the reservoir. After doing the same to the master cylinder reservoir & cleaning the film out of the reservoir? Both the brakes & steering have a noticeable difference. Scott! If I’m listening to your videos I’m learning something. A Thousand Thanks. Mule.

Is it possible to start an engine with a ratchet at the crank/harmonic balancer and maybe removing a couple spark plugs to make it easier to spin engine over . I come up with this idea when I was replacing front crankshaft seal . I was listening to car radio while turning crankshaft when it accured to me that I had the ignition switch in the run position and not the acc position . I believe the run position of ignition switch is where you want to have it when push starting an manual . transmission which in this case maybe could have started up with a little more effort and maybe removing a few more spark plugs . If so this just might be an alternative to start a vehicle ; well for the risky type that is . P.S. I was able to break loose harmonic balancer bolt by disabling the Fuel injection system , putting breaker bar on bolt and resting breaker bar against the vehicles frame then turning engine over a few times with the starter . Tighten harmonic balancer bolt best I could which seems to be good enough since I've put at least 10k miles on it with no problems . Maybe someone can do a video on all I just said . Working on another technique to jumpstart using starting fluid and jumping an spark plug coil or two but I'm still trying to figure that one at .
